HEDB (Higher Education Database) provides a central data collection platform for the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, United Arab Emirates. All the universities accredited by CAA are required to submit data to HEDB regularly.

The Ministry intends to make HEDB into an information powerhouse for the UAE higher education sector so that it can be used as the preferred trusted source of all statistics related to higher education in the country.

Data from HEDB provides a solid foundation for evidence based decision-making towards higher education policy and planning at both the institutional and national level. With informed decision-making, national higher education sector would enhance its strengths in the increasingly competitive world of international higher education. In addition, reports and analysis from the platform will be used by higher education institutions in the country to enhance students’ learning experience, informed curriculum design and monitoring research etc.
